A challenge put forth by the Fairfield Art Association was accepted by 14 artists – creating art for a gallery exhibit in just two hours!
The FAA board decided to host “TAKE IT THE CANVAS/PAPER” and invited talented area artists that we knew could work quickly.
And to make it more exciting, we asked them to create their art together and opened the event to the public to watch” says Suzan Kessel, FAA Volunteer Director.

Participating artists were: Gin Lammert and Deb Baughman from Pulaski, BJ Grimmer and Ann Porter from Mt. Pleasant, Kathleen Almelien and JoAnne Worley from Washington,
Jessica Kirby from Ft. Madison,
and Fairfield artists Elaine Duncan, Ann Weigel, Pam Lander, David Pattison,
John Preston, Kella Tschopp and Suzan Kessel.

The styles and mediums the artists use were varied.
All the artists are exceptionally talented, with nine of them working on 24 X 30″ canvases, and five artists using full sheet watercolor paper.
Part of the challenge will be working from a huge still life created in the center of the atrium and incorporating objects from it, along with their imagination or elements they bring.
All of the artists  have art resumes posted in the gallery, along with bid sheets.
Bidding will continue until the close of the exhibit in November,
 located in the Main Gallery
at the FACC, 200 North Main in Fairfield.
