Two days of portraits and one day of landscape. Art work created by participants in Friday’s class will be on display for the Friday, April 5 Art Walk in the Art Studio.
Cecile teaches many workshops in France and the United States. Her primary specialty lies in portraiture. Cecile is a member of “Art du Pastel en France”, “la Societe des Pastellistes de France”, “Portrait Society of America”, among other s. For me and my students there is no stress or pressure during workshops.” Instruction includes creating portraits step by step.
Materials that participants should plan on bringing include: Good photos or people and landscapes. She recommends these not be of family members, because they can be difficult. Soft Pastels, with a set of 45 being adequate, recommended brands are Rembrandt, Conte Crayon, Sennelier, Unison or Terry Ludwig. Pastel paper by Art Spectrum or La Card by Sennelier. Drawing boards or easels are needed, although a few are available by FAA. Bring several pieces of Vine Charcoal in the thinnest size, 3 to 4 mm. Also bring masking tape, paper towels, note taking material and your camera. Photographs are allowed during demonstrations.
