held on Sunday February 21 in the Main Gallery at the FACC.
Guests were greeted by tables of desserts arranged by a committee of
Karin Hauring, Nancy Huebner and Jan Bork.
During the event Charter Members were recognized.
David Kraemer announced the 2016 summer art installation would be “Imaginative Little Libraries”.
Sculptor Christopher Bennett’s working space was set up in the atrium, where the first of three models, David Miller posed.
Bennett spoke about the process he would use for the FAA’s bronze of Lee T. Gobble, compared to how he had created his first sculpture of William Coop.
Awards of Excellence were presented to four exhibiting artists participating in the FAA’s 6 X 12 Canvas Membership Show by boardmembers John Preston and Kella Tschopp, followed by comments from the judge Mark Shafer.
Those awards of Excellence were
Bonnie Hendricks in the category of landscape painting
“Biker in the Woods”
Susan Bomzer in the category of still life painting“Pears”
Steve Tiffany in the category of abstract “Mt. Blue Tooth”
Wendy Read “Untitled” in the category non-traditional
Each artist received a certificate and cash award.
Mark commented “As the FAIRFIELD ART ASSOCIATION’s youngest charter member, it was a special privilege to judge this,
our GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY EXHIBIT.”
A critique was then given by Shafer on each art work in the show.
The door prize names drawn were
Terry Klein, Wava Jarr, & Joyce Schindler.
James & Deb DeArmon name was drawn for the 2016 Membership submission awarding two tickets to an Artist Series Show of choice.
