Galleries

The Fairfield Art Association is responsible for the various gallery spaces within the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center building year around. The four defined galleries below are located separately in the facility and feature different exhibits concurrently.

Kessel Family

Main Gallery

Location: The Kessel Main Gallery is located in the FACC, between the Sondheim Theater and ISB Atrium Lobby.
Hours: Mon-Fri / 9am – 5pm + during FACC events & Art Walks

The FAA Main Gallery features art exhibits in a variety of media by professional regional, national & international artists. Exhibit opening receptions are held for the guest artists on the evening of 1st Friday of the month. Art pieces that are for sale and can be purchased in our Sales Gallery. The Kessel Family Main Gallery is located between the Sondheim Theater and ISB Atrium Lobby.

Permanent Collection & Corridor Gallery

Location: This gallery runs East to West in the corridor of the Atrium Lobby in the FACC. 
Open: Mon-Fri / 9am – 5pm + during FACC events & Art Walks

Our Permanent Collection predominantly consists of art works by recognized Iowa artists from the 1920’s to present day, along with national and well-known Fairfield artists. They include but are not limited to these listed below

IOWA ART: Mauricio Lasansky’s intaglio prints, paintings by Art Benoit, Ray Frederick, Anne Hovey, Wendel Mohr, M. J. Kitzman, Richard Dutton, Jim Weidle and other media by Iowa artists.

NATIONAL: Warrington Colescott, Andrew Dasburg, Emerson Woelffer, Nicholas Krushenick, Michael Graves, Tom Wilder, Morris Henry Hobbs.

FAIRFIELD: Ben Taylor, Mark Shafer, James B. Wilson

Sales Gallery

Location: 200 North Main, Fairfield, IA 52556 – Located in the Artists’  Studio at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center
Hours: Tues-Fri / 1pm – 5pm + during FACC events & Art Walks or by appointment

The Sales Gallery is located in the FAA Studio area and features the artworks of its current members. There is a large variety of media including: watercolor, oil & acrylic painting, pastels, mixed media, fiber art, batik, jewelry, pottery, glassware, gourd art, sculpture, photography, printmaking, drawing, cards, books, Fairfield themed artworks, clothing, and art décor. All items are for sale and help support the artists and the FAA.
