Painting_Layering Up will explore the layering of painting medium techniques using gray and color values with transparency and opacity. Participants will create compositional unity using multiple mediums, to attain a unique visual, which is NOT obvious as mixed-media artwork.
Theory and practice will emphasize creating depth of space with hard and soft edge value contrasts, selecting suitable surface, appropriate mediums, and sequence of application. The unity of this layering up technique painted composition is to enhance expressive skills.
For Art Educators this is an exploration of painting strategy that can be integrated into visual art learning disciplines to increase student learning.
