2019 Summer Art Installation- “PIPE DREAMS”

The Fairfield Art Association announces its 11th annual art installation project for downtown Fairfield.

“PIPE DREAMS” is the theme selected by FAA Board members that will take place this summer beginning¬†June 7¬†and remain on display through September.

Up to twenty two artists can participate in creating an entry for this year’s art installation in garden nodes around the Fairfield square and up Main Street.

“Especially fun this year is the opportunity to showcase artists talents as RAGBRAI comes to town on¬†July 25¬†with thousands of viewers.

It just happens our FAA theme of “Pipe Dreams” can easily be adapted to the Fairfield RAGBRAI theme including steampunk art if wanted.

We also plan to begin the silent auction of art pieces on¬†July 25¬†so visitors can bid. Last time numerous art pieces sold to RAGBRAI riders from Texas to California!”¬†

Local artists, or creative groups can work together, and are invited to participate on an entry. Any one interested should let Suzan Kessel(suzan1252@aol.com)  know as soon as possible to reserve a spot,

or sign up directly at the FAA’s studio in the FACC,¬†Monday-¬†Friday¬†between hours of 1-5 PM

The FAA provides a 6‚ÄĚ Wide x 5‚Äô high PVC pipe as the base for all creations and a copy of our guidelines which includes the maximum dimensions.

You can use any material to decorate or embellish our PVC pipe but all materials must be weather proof and construction sturdy.¬†Use of recycled, found, used, and Fairfield related items are encouraged. The finished art work must be designed to install on the FAA’s under/above ground pipe system – details in project guidelines.

Artwork must be completed and turned in to the FAA Studio between June 3-5, to be installed prior to June 7.

This year’s project is supported in part by PVC pipes from Hickenbottom INC.
